The days when facilities owners & operators could fully lean on an aged electrician or an outdated set of blueprints to be the only sources of knowledge and functionality for the entire electrical system are quickly coming to an end. With efficiency, functionality, and legal risk all elevated when institutions rely on a single source of unofficial electrical records, the need for a digital service provider like EDS is more important now than ever.

Why Eason Digital Solutions

All commercial and industrial facilities should have all necessary electrical systems working and accessible at all times in order to maintain responsible compliance. Some categories of facilities (such as hospitals, data centers, correctional facilities, etc.) have a much higher duty to ensure that their electrical systems are fully functional and in the event that a problem develops the building managers have up-to-date plan sets.

Unfortunately, most facilities are unable to easily access the most current data and building plans concerning their internal electrical systems. This presents a major problem when they attempt to accurately locate one of the hundreds or thousands of individual power panels. In fact, in the case of an internal electrical failure, nearly 2/3 of all vital facility types are unprepared or vastly under prepared for action. Imagine if an ICU or operating theater at a hospital accidentally tripped a breaker! Would anyone know where to locate the correct panel to fix the problem?

What if a seemingly trivial section of lights goes down, and when going to fix the outage, your staff accidentally interrupts power flow to a vital part of the facility? Who would know? What if the resident authority on that subject wasn’t on campus? (You know, that one maintenance guy who’s been there forever.) What if they’ve retired or moved on, and no one really knows where things are centralized? What if you discover that the most recent set of contractor-supplied electrical records you have are incomplete or illegible? Not only would this potentially put your facility in danger of compliance reprimands, but it would increase the likelihood of tragedy, loss of life, lost production, dangerous conditions, lost data, and potential lawsuits.

Enter Eason Digital Solutions.

We offer a dynamic digital solution that offers lead engineers and facility managers 24/7 online access and the ability to search the entire plan set for all of their building electrical systems and details, as well as the ability to identify key electrical panels throughout each facility.

About EDS

Eason Digital Solutions exists today because there has been a glaring need for a modern, accessible diagnostic representation of every hospital’s electrical system for far too long. Not only is it impractical and inconvenient to not have correct, accessible electrical system data, it is lawfully dangerous and potentially deadly. As a former electrical contractor for a major metropolitan hospital system, Chad Eason desired to rectify this situation by converting the plans for the hospital’s electrical system into a digital, online format, and soon saw efficiency, compliance, and functionality skyrocket for his facility. From experience, Mr. Eason knew that nearly every other hospital in the metropolitan area was in the same situation, and would greatly benefit from his process, as would many other facility types. Thus began what is known today as Eason Digital Solutions.
